About Us
We didn't set out to start a skincare company. We set out to stop using products we didn't trust.
For Lauren, the turning point came when she started paying closer attention to what was actually in her skincare — and what those ingredients might be doing to her body. Parabens, synthetic fragrances, hormone-disrupting preservatives. The more she read, the harder it became to ignore. So she stopped ignoring it.
She started looking for something simpler. Something that worked with the body instead of against it. That search led her back — way back — to an ingredient people used long before modern skincare existed: tallow.
Rendered from the fat of grass-fed cattle, tallow is remarkably similar in composition to the natural oils human skin produces. It absorbs the way synthetic moisturizers can only try to imitate. It nourishes rather than coating. It doesn't need a list of stabilizers and fillers - it just works.
Heritage Acres Skincare was built around that discovery. Every product is handcrafted in small batches in Kinston, NC, using grass-fed tallow sourced from a local North Carolina farm we know and trust. The ingredient lists are short on purpose. Nothing is hidden. Nothing is unnecessary.
What we believe:
Your skin shouldn't have to process a chemistry lab's worth of ingredients to stay healthy.
Knowing where your ingredients come from isn't a luxury — it should be the standard.
Simpler routines aren't a step backward. For a lot of people, they're the answer they've been looking for.
We also make the Hunter Collection — a line of field-tested tallow products built specifically for hunters and outdoorsmen, rendered from deer tallow harvested on family land in northern Michigan. Same philosophy, different animal, different customer. If you know someone who spends more time outside than inside, start there.
